Jungle Hike

The hike is a 2-hour hike into the jungle. Discover numerous plant and animal species in a tropical jungle. You will see a site where clusters of boulders are engraved with petroglyphs. The destination is a wild fig tree 160-foot tall with buttress roots extending to a 30-foot diameter. At the site is a giant flat boulder, carved with a petroglyph.

On the trip you will hear stories of Manuel's life as a boy, and how he survived for weeklong treks in the jungle listening to the sound of the jaguar hunting its prey! He shares his knowledge of plants and their nutritional and medicinal uses, as well as how to make survival tools, shelter and protection from wild animals and insects.
